Julie Larson
Guitar, 12 string, Flute, Mandolin, Percussion, and Vocals
Julie Larson is a music teacher in the East Bay with an extensive
background in instrumental music and improvisation. She got involved with music at an early
age, and had the unique opportunity to study jazz improv privately with Dave Burns, a former trumpeter in Dizzy
Gillespie's Big Band.
Julie was a founding member of the Recycling Porpoises musician's collective - a support network for local
performing musicians. She was a producer/performer of a weekly live acoustic performance series at the
Thornhill Coffee House in Montclair, Oakland.
Julie has a long list of performers she has sat in with to jam. These include the Bill Sims Band (NYC), The Zen
Tricksters (LI - NY), Blues Traveler (NYC), Luther Tucker (Fairfax, CA) and Mark Karan (San Rafael, CA).
She has performed solo acoustic shows in the Bay Area since 1991.
In The Outbacks, Julie is a multi-instrumentalist and vocalist.
